MAREK

Climb fast, dodge the chaos, reach the top.

A one-screen arcade climb starring a very cheerful, very portly pub-festival gentleman who really should not be on that scaffolding.

Marek, a cheerful moustachioed pub-festival character, raising a glowing pint and a sausage on a fork in a sunny town square

What is Marek?

Marek is a retro-inspired, one-screen vertical arcade platformer for phones. One building at a time, bottom to top: a taproom, a kitchen, a cellar, a lift shaft, a rooftop, and later on some places that frankly shouldn't exist. Ladders up, hazards down, door at the top.

Rolling kegs, bouncing sausages, fire vents and moving platforms are all doing their level best to send our hero back to the ground floor. A gold pan makes him briefly untouchable, a bottle hands him another life, and a pretzel is worth points and morale.

Twenty rounds across four escalating chapters, plus an Endless mode once you've cleared the lot. Runs last two or three minutes — perfect for a bus stop, a queue, or a suspiciously long coffee break.

How to play

Moving about

Left and right scoot our hero sideways, jump sends him hopping like he just felt a spider in his sock. Walk into any ladder and up or down both work — no fancy footwork, no secret combos.

The goal

Get to the door before gravity, hazards, or Marek's own belly get the better of him. Clear it and the next round of glorious chaos begins immediately — no rest for the hungry.

Twenty rounds

Four chapters, each meaner than the last. Run out of lives mid-chapter? You bounce back to THAT chapter's start, not all the way to square one. Kinder than your local pub quiz.

Things worth grabbing

The gold pan makes you briefly hazard-proof — stroll through kegs and sausages like royalty. The bottle is a free life. The glowing pretzel is pure bonus points and, frankly, a fine snack.
